Mynydd Cynffig Infants Task- To Create a Global Fruit Salad

Baseline of Children’s Knowledge

Success Criteria set by children We need to have lots of different fruit. The fruit needs to come from all around the world.

Reception used a TASC wheel

Older children worked with younger children to make posters to advertise the challenge to their parents. Children wrote letters to parents asking for help. A world map was sent home for children to locate the part of the world where their chosen fruit was grown.

We tried to work out how the fruit was transported We used a world map to locate where the fruit came from

We painted all seven continents for our class assembly.

Posters were advertised around the school and everybody across the whole school supported us in the challenge. An Assembly was created by class4 (year 1 children) and parents and the whole school were invited to share the findings of the challenge.

Assess the Success of the Challenge! (How has childrens’ knowledge changed?)
