Making fruit Salads Year 1 Autumn 2011

Taste test We enjoyed tasting fruits and completed a preference chart.

Tasting grapefruit We didn’t really enjoy the grapefruit. It was a bit sour. Designing our fruit salad We used our fruit preference chart and selected our four favourite fruits to put on our fruit salad.

Preparing fruit Each group of children helped prepare the fruit. We washed our hands and wore aprons. We worked safely with knives to chop the fruits.

Preparing fruit Some of us were supported to use the sharp knife. We had to be very careful.

The finished salad Everybody selected the fruit they liked from the taste testing and designed their own fruit salad. Then they selected the correct fruit to make up their design.
