Unit Fractions  Fractions with a numerator of 1 are called Unit Fractions. ½ or ¼ or 1/10 or 1/1000  Unit fractions help solve fraction problems in real life.

Examples  Alicia baked cookies. She gave away 24 cookies which was 3/5 of her cookies. How many did Alicia bake? 3/5 = 24 1/5 = /5 = Cookies were baked

Examples  A radio is on sale for $120.00; this is 60% off of the list price. What was the original price of the radio.  60% = 60/100 = 6/10 = 3/5 3/5 = 120 1/5 = /5 = 200. $200 was the original price of the radio.
