Assigning a Level : Activity 1 Appendix B 1.Collect two written texts, one from the factual and the other from the creative or persuasive text types. Refer to the EALD Funding Notes for details.EALD Funding Notes 2.Understand the context of the text. Another teacher will need to provide this if the teacher assigning the Level is not the one who set the task. Reflect upon the purpose and audience of the text type and anticipate the structure and the language required to achieve the purpose. 3.Scan the sets of evidence, select three representative sets (high, average, low) and begin assigning Levels by highlighting language choices. These choices should be recorded on the approved proforma.
