Languages -official language is Lao -tribes of Laos speak different languages -Lao Lum speak both Lao and tai

Currency -currency is kip(basic unit) -most people in Laos are poor

Food Food -these are the ingredients for koua khao (fried rice), 4tbsp of vegetable oil, 2eggs (beaten), 1yellow onion(chopped fine), 4cloves of garlic(crushed), 1lb of pork chops (or beef), (boned and julienned), shrimp (shelled and deveined), 1tsp of salt (adjust to taste), 1tsp of black pepper (grounded), 2tbsp of fish sauce, 2 red chilies, (julienned) 2tbsp of ketchup, 4cups of rice (cooked), 1/2cup of scallions(chopped), 4tbsp of coriander(chopped)
