“Life-Cycle Cost” The pollutants, land use, and raw material extraction that go into the manufacture, transport, use, and disposal of a product. Life-Cycle Cost Analysis is calculating a measurement representation of Life-Cycle Cost In your case, you will be measuring the Life-Cycle Cost of products you purchase for the campus all the time

So now that we have a some- what firm grasp of Life- Cycle Cost Analysis, what is the LCCA Tool and what will it be used for?

The LCCA Tool will measure the Life-Cycle Cost of products within CruzBuy  The four steps of a products life-cycle:  Supplier  Transportation  Product Use  Disposal I’m a Happy Buyer

 The user will answer questions about the product’s stages of life and their answers will rank the product as having a high or low life-cycle cost  Example: Electric pencil sharpener vs. a non-electric pencil sharpener  The tool will compare products HOW?

GOALS:  Increase the purchase of Environmentally Preferred Products  SPREAD AWARENESS of GreenWashing  EDUCATE people on what to look for when trying to decide between purchasing purchasing two supposedly two supposedly similar products similar products in everyday in everyday shopping shopping
