SEMESTER-I AR 104 VISUAL ARTS, GRAPHICS &MODEL MAKING UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF ARCHITECTURE Scheme of Teaching L T P Total Scheme of Examination Internal External Total Duration of Examination 4 Hrs. Objectives: S.NO.CONTENTS 1. Pencil as an effective presentation tool. Free hand line work with different strokes/grades in pencil. Effect of light and shade & textures on simple geometrical solids, human figures, trees and vehicles 2. Outdoor sketching of simple building forms. Sketches of scenes and activities from memory involving public spaces like markets, festivals, recreational spaces etc. Visualising Scenes through memory & expressing them in block models 3. Color wheel 4. Developing Design models with different materials e.g. thermocol,paper, mount boards etc.) Credit 4 Methodology: Familiarization with principles and theories and graphic and architectural composition & development of art and graphic skills. Studio assignments and lectures. Demonstration of 3D Geometrical objects and their 2D representation on sheets. Exercises in 3-D. with simple blocks, composition of basic geometrical forms etc. Introduction to the tools and equipment available for executing these exercises..
