Hubert Clifton Staff Sergeant, U.S. Army Retired Army Ordinance Signal Corps Air Defense Artillery Served mainly in Italy during WWII, but also served in African and Middle Eastern Campaigns. Waldo Beadle Joined the Army January 1937, and was sent to the Philippines where he was a boat guard with the 59th Artillery Division, between Corregidor and Manila. May 9th, 1942, Beadle and his entire division were captured as prisoners of war. Beadle was a POW for 1,205 days and survived the infamous Bataan Death March. Struck from the Naval Register, June 30, Final Disposition, sold for scrapping to National Metal & Steel, Terminal Island, CA., April 6, 1982 USS Bryce Canyon received one battle star for her service in the Korean War. USS Vessel 878. Gun fire support ship in Vietnam. First Navy ship to leave the East coast for Vietnam. It was involved in a ship wreck on the way which delayed the crew for 2 weeks.
