Obie Clifton US Army, Korean War Enlisted 1949 at age 17. Heavy Mortar Company 31 st Regiment, 7 th Infantry Division. Missing in Action, November 30, 1959 at the north end of Chosen Reservoir, North Korea. Uncle of Kallie and Kate Cllifton. Presumed dead, December 31, 1953
Waldo Beadle Joined the Army January 1937, and was sent to the Philippines where he was a boat guard with the 59th Artillery Division, between Corregidor and Manila. May 9th, 1942, Beadle and his entire division were captured as prisoners of war. Beadle was a POW for 1,205 days and survived the infamous Bataan Death March. Struck from the Naval Register, June 30, Final Disposition, sold for scrapping to National Metal & Steel, Terminal Island, CA., April 6, 1982 USS Bryce Canyon received one battle star for her service in the Korean War. USS Vessel 878. Gun fire support ship in Vietnam. First Navy ship to leave the East coast for Vietnam. It was involved in a ship wreck on the way which delayed the crew for 2 weeks.
