Social Fund Successor Arrangements Practitioner Event – 3 October 2012

Overview of Scotland Excel – Scotland Excel is the Centre of Procurement Expertise for Scotland's local government sector. Formed in 2008 in response to recommendations in the McClelland Report, previously Authorities Buying Consortium. – Our members include Scotland's 32 councils and almost 100 associate members including public bodies, voluntary organisations, community groups and charities. – Scotland Excel works collaboratively with members and suppliers to raise procurement standards and secure best value for customers. – Range of corporate/transactional and service contracts available.

The Opportunity Provision of Domestic Furniture and Furnishings including White Goods and other related services This provision will relate to domestic dwellings such as temporary accommodation and hostels, however this is not limited and provision will apply to other similar types of related dwellings as required by members and participants of the framework. An arrangement of this nature supports councils to deliver fully furnished temporary and interim accommodation, but can also assist councils to provide furniture packages for service users who may be moving to their first tenancy, or in order to prevent someone from becoming homeless. A one stop shop approach will be considered to ensure councils have one service provider to meet all replenishment of goods.

The Opportunity Collaboration Advantages EU compliant procedure Minimise costs and duplication of effort Transparency and harmonisation of rates Flexibility and choice Increase innovation and monitor spend nationally
