What is a rape culture? Rape culture is a culture where the victim is usually blamed for getting raped. People would say why did they wear that dress or why did they go to that place at night rather then punishing the rapist. Which leads to sexually assault considering as the norm.

Parts of rape culture Anyone Can Be A Rapist - “ As a culture, we still refuse collectively to accept that most rapes are committed by ordinary men, men who have friends and families, men who may even have done great or admirable things with their lives …” – Laurie Penny The idea of “ Gray Rape ” - a term that was made to reduce the importance of women being raped. They will just say you were drunk so how do you know if you said yes or no.

“No means Yes” - American law should clearly state that if your partner say “ no ” then no means no and if they say “ yes ” then yes means yes, so that it wouldn ’ t be rape. “ Victim Blaming ” – Victim blaming is another problem where people blame the victim because the victim was drunk or they say that the guy is too nice to do that. “ Slut Shaming ” – And there is “slut” blaming the victim gets blamed as slut for dressing inappropriately and this blame prevents people from taking victims seriously.

How often does sexual assault occur? According to the us department of justive the number of victims per 1,000 people at age of 12 or older. Fluctuate depending in part on time of the year. Summer has the highest rates of sexual assault while winter fall to the lowest. From rape and sexual assault were on average of 10% fall in the summer and the lower in the fall than the summer 9% lower on average in the winter and 6% lower in spring. There is an average of 293,066 victims (age 12 or older) of rape and sexual assault each year. There are 525,600 minutes in a non-leap year. That makes 31,536,000 seconds/year. So, 31,536,000 divided by 293,066 comes out to 1 sexual assault every 107 seconds.

Statistics of Sexual Assault  In college compus  "Reported sexual assaults at colleges rose by 79 percent from 2001 to 2012, according to U.S. Department of Education data. In 2012, there were 3,948 forcible sex cases at the country's colleges."  "One in five women will face sexual assault during their college years"  "After a 2008 state audit found that two-thirds of State University of New York colleges were not accurately reporting campus crimes"

The Unvictims Had the 1993 rate held steady, about 9.7 million Americans would have been assaulted in the last 20 years. Thanks to the decline, the actual number of victims was about 4.2 million. In other words, if not for the progress we've made in the last 20 years, an additional 5.5 million Americans would have become victims of sexual violence. While we should be happy that we’re making progress, we are still a very long way from solving this problem. Every two minutes, another American is sexually assaulted.

Some Tips for parents to talk with their sons about Sexual Assault Everyone should make their sons to understand about misogyny and sexual assault in our society. Everyone should teach their sons to respect women and to support nonviolence.  Teach your sons to not force girls to have sex with them. Talk about how the objectification of women is apparent in everything from sexualized cartoon princesses marketed to kids, to the three-billion-dollar-a-year pornography industry.

 When you talk to your sons about sexual violence, it should not be only about rape, it should be about deep- seated and society-wide misogyny  your sons need to understand that there will be often be serious consequences to broken rules and violent laws.  Everyone must educate their sons that it is never acceptable to remain silent on these matters. They should stand against violence.  We always say boys does not cry but now its time to teach them they should not make girls to cry.

Ways to prevent sexual assault ! 1.Be aware of your surroundings. 2.Communicate your limits as clearly as possible. 3.Dress comfortably 4.Avoid excessive use of alcohol and drugs. 5.Knows that silence that's not equal to consent. 6.Don't blame rape victim for the violence perpetrated against them. 7.Support women and men working to stop sexual assault !

 Why do you think the sexual assault still happening today even though we all know the impact of it ?

 There are a lot of college students that do not report their case. What can be done to make them report those cases and take a stand?

 97% of the rapists does not go to jail. why do you think this happens? what should we do as a society to make sure they get the punishment they deserve?

 Why are the victims of sexual assault are usually female （ 9 of every 10 victims were female and 1 of every 10 victims were male)?
