SAPR DoD Instruction The ASD(HA), under the USD(P&R) shall establish guidance designed to: – Ensure standardized, timely, accessible, and comprehensive healthcare Ensure care is consistent Ensure forensic evidence collections Training for unrestricted and restricted reporting options Ensure licensed HCPs are eligible to perform sexual assault forensic examinations (SAFE)

SAPR DoD Instruction Personnel able to perform sexual assault forensic examinations: Licensed physicians with clinical privileges in emergency medicine, family practice, internal medicine, obstetrics/ gynecology, urology, general medical officer, undersea medical officer, flight surgeon, and/or those privileged to perform pelvic examinations Licensed advanced practice registered nurses with clinical privileges in adult health, family health, midwifery, women’s health, and/or privileged to perform pelvic examinations Licensed physician assistants with clinical privileges in adult, family, women’s health and/or privileged to perform pelvic examinations Licensed registered nurses who meet requirements for perform a SAFE as determined by the local privileging authority. (Capability is noted as a competency, not as a privilege) During contingency situations and when authorized by local privileging authority, licensed and unlicensed healthcare personnel such as registered nurses, independent duty corpsman, medic, or technician
