Open Enrollment Process School District 27J allows its resident students to apply for enrollment in any 27J school/program of their choice unless the school is designated “Closed to Open Enrollment”. Any student residing within the boundaries of School District 27J may apply to attend any 27J school that has space available. Families who wish to enroll their student in a school other than their attendance area school and non-residents who wish to enroll their student in a 27J school, must complete an Open Enrollment Application each year. Applications are accepted for the following school year on a space/program available basis, according to the priority system established in district policy JFBA-R All applications will be documented according to the date and time it was received. If a family wishes to enroll their student in their attendance area school, there is no need to complete the Open Enrollment Application form. Simply contact the school registrar to register. Applications for Open Enrollment will be accepted beginning January 6, 2014 and must be submitted by February 28, A decision will be made by March 7, 2014 and parents will be notified of the determination.

Open Enrollment Continued The following schools are designated Closed to Open Enrollment for the school year under the following conditions: Brighton High School: No applications for students who reside outside of School District 27J will be considered, except for currently attending students who will be a junior or senior in school year Applications for resident students from the Prairie View High School attendance area and children of district staff will be considered. Prairie View High School: No applications for students who reside outside of School District 27J will be considered except for currently attending students who will be a junior or senior in school year Applications for resident students from the Brighton High School attendance area and children of district staff will be considered. Turnberry Elementary School: Applications for resident and non-resident students who currently attend Turnberry and will be in the 5th grade next school year and their siblings will be considered. Applications for children of District staff will be considered. No other applications for resident or non-resident students will be considered. Prairie View Middle School: No applications will be considered for non-resident students. Applications for students who reside within School District 27J may be considered on a space available basis. Applications for children of District staff will be considered. No other applications for resident or non-resident students will be considered.
