Joab tried to stop David  David wanted all men counted  Joab objected, 1 Chron. 21:6  David would not relent  Trouble followed

Need to hear friends who respect God  Stick closer than a brother, Prov. 18:24  Faithful wounds, Prov. 27:6  Hearty counsel, Prov. 27:9  Sharpens us, Prov. 27:17

David’s conscience bothered him  A righteous man overall  Tried to bury sin in the past; didn’t work  Confessed to God & sought mercy

We must repent & confess As soon as our conscience bothers us  God already knows, 1 Jn. 3:20  Confess the sin, 1 Jn. 1:9  Seek God’s mercy, Acts 8:22
