Sociology Writing Targets Set a piece of extended writing to be completed in class. Print the following cards onto A4, or change the printer settings to 6 x 4 (postcard) and print the slideshow onto index cards. Place the cards face down on a table. Each student takes one (or more, if appropriate) card. The card becomes the target for that particular piece of writing. Lesson development ideas Self assessment – was the target met correctly? Peer assessment – others in the class should guess what the target for the writing was. The slideshow can be used as a basis for discussion on what good sociological writing is. How many targets did each student hit? Print out the cards on A4 to make a wall display for the teaching room
