 Introduction

“When teachers are committed to their job and organization they will strive toward the improvement of the school and improving school means guiding the students to greater heights of academic achievement.” - Ponnusamy, 2010

Teachers’ Commitment Students’ Performance in English Commitment to JobCommitment to Organization Writing Listening Speaking

This study sought answers to the following questions:  What is the English teachers’ level of commitment to job and organization?  What is the students’ level of achievement in English in terms of their scores in writing, listening and speaking?  Does the teachers’ level of commitment to job and organization affect the students’ performance in English?

 Commitment to job and commitment to organization do not predict students’ performance in writing.  Commitment to job and commitment to organization do not predict students’ performance in listening.  Commitment to job and commitment to organization do not predict students’ performance in speaking. For this study the following null hypotheses were formulated:

Conclusion Commitment to organization is not a predictor of students’ performance in writing, listening and speaking.

Conclusion Commitment to job is not a predictor of students’ performance in writing and speaking. Commitment to job is a predictor of students’ performance in listening.
