Are You Afraid of the Light?

It is common for children to be afraid of the dark. But in the spiritual realm, it is just as common for adults to be afraid of the light.

Why People are Afraid of the Light Light exposes things and reveals their true nature “But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.” (Ephesians 5:13)

Why People are Afraid of the Light Some people don’t want their true nature to be exposed. “And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.” (John 3:19-20)

A true child of God seeks the Light “But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.” (John 3:21)

Light can be found in Christ and in His word. “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

Let us not fear to open God’s word together and seek its light today! The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple. (Psalm 119:130)
