Depressed Mr. Hollybrass is depressed because he doesn’t want to be on the ship with Captain Jaggery.

Timid Mr. Hollybrass is timid because he is afraid of Captain Jaggery.

Lonely Mr. Hollybrass is lonely because none of the crew likes him because he is on Jaggery’s “side”.

Obedient Mr. Hollybrass is obedient because he is afraid of Captain Jaggery hurting him for not doing something correctly.
