Limbic System – Hippocampus and Amygdala Prof. K. Sivapalan

Hippocampus Hippocampus forms the floor of the lateral ventricles. It abuts the amygdaloid nucleus anteriorly It fuses with parahippocampus laterally which is the ventromedial portion of the temporal lobe. Hippocampus forms the floor of the lateral ventricles. Function of the Hippocampus. Hippocampus and Amygdala3

Amygdala It is located below the medial anterior pole of each temporal lobes. Connected to hypothalamus and the rest of the limbic system. One division of olfactory tract ends in amygdala.
