October 7, 2009 Take out your homework (timeline) Take out your evidence tracker and your notebook. Consider the evidence and take a stance: Guilty or Not Guilty? Write a paragraph explaining your vote, knowing BOTH sides of the case.

Take out your agenda books… Homework for tonight: Complete the “Twelve Angry Men Evidence and Alibis” sheet. STAPLE this sheet and the timeline to your study guide PACKET.

Timeline of events on the night of the murder

8:00 PM 8:00pm – The kid has an argument with his father and leaves the house after getting hit several times. Neighbors down the hall heard the boy get hit twice and walk angrily out of the apartment. (p.16)

8:15 PM 8:15pm – The kid went directly to a junk shop and bought a switch knife as a gift for his friend.

8:45 PM 8:45pm – The kid ran into three of his friends in front of a diner. DINER

9:45 PM 9:45pm – The kid left his friends after talking with them for an hour. During this time, the kid showed his friends the switch knife. DINER

10:00 PM 10:00pm – The kid arrived home.

11:30 PM 11:30pm – The kid went to an all-night movie.

Some point in the night… At some point in the night, the knife fell out through a hole in his pocket.

12:10 AM 12:10am – Old man downstairs heard a kid shout, “I’m gonna kill you.” A second later, he heard the body fall, and ran to see the kid running down the stairs and out of the house. The woman across the street sees the kid stab his father in the chest through the windows of an empty, passing elevated train.

3:15 AM 3:15am – The kid returned home to find himself arrested and his father dead.
