Data Protection notice When discussing members of the public, all agencies and individuals will agree to respect their confidentiality. The disclosure of information outside this meeting, should not occur unless there is a legal basis for a disclosure.

Community Priorities Warwickshire Police is obliged to protect communities from harm in line with the ‘Police Priorities’. This may mean that in exceptional circumstances SNT officers may be required to work on other policing priorities. If this happens there will be a need to re-negotiate priorities. This will be done in liaison with the Chair and the panel.

Community Priorities from Wednesday 26th June 2013 Speeding on Toms Town Lane, Studley. Anti Social Behaviour patrols on Henley High Street. Speeding on The Common/Shutt Lane, Earlswood.

Speeding on Toms Town Lane, Studley. (Commitment to conduct 10 speed checks) 11 speed checks conducted at varying times and points on the Toms Town Lane. Top speed recorded was 39 mph in a 30 mph restriction. 6 motorists captured contravening the 30mph speed restriction, with each being dealt with either by fixed penalty notices or roadside cautions. 1 additional fixed penalty issued to a motorist who drove past officers using his mobile phone!

Anti Social Behaviour patrols on Henley High Street (Commitment to conduct 12 additional targeted patrols) A total of 20 patrols conducted largely comprising of foot patrol on Friday and Saturday evenings. 7 P.A.C.E searches conducted. A youth participated in a local ‘Restorative Justice’ scheme for possession of cannabis. Concern raised for one male who appeared drunk, subsequently returned to the safety and comfort of his home. Uniformed Police Officers conducted a number of ‘Walk Through’s’ of each licensed premises on Henley High Street. Officers liaised with the licensees,

Speeding along The Common/Shutt Lane, Earlswood. (Commitment to conduct 10 speed checks) 11 speed checks conducted at varying times and points on Sambourne Lane. Top speed recorded was 57 mph. 100 motorists captured contravening the 30mph speed restriction. Speeding motorists dealt with by way of fixed penalty notices and road side cautions. Location highlighted to Camera Enforcement for consideration of future mobile speed checks.

Other matters of interest: A warrant was executed in Studley in a joint operation with West Mercia Police. A male was arrested and enquiries are currently ongoing. A male on Spernal Lane was issued with a Cannabis Warning. Safer Neighbourhood Officers conducted a warrant at a property in Dunnington following information of a male being in possession of an un-licensed firearm. As a result of the search an air weapon was located. Safer Neighbourhood Officers have investigated a number of theft related offences from local retail outlets in Studley over the past few weeks. Investigations have identified offenders who have been dealt with by way of Fixed Penalty Notices and banned from the respective outlets. As a result of a number of schools regionally being targeted for burglaries with IT equipment being stolen, Safer Neighbourhood Officers have contacted every school on the Alcester North area to promote the benefits of having SmartWater. 100% of schools have purchased ‘commercial’ packs of SmartWater.

PROTECT YOUR SHEDS AND OUTBUILDINGS FROM BURGLARY. Wherever possible, do not store valuable items in sheds. Always lock your shed and garage and fit a good quality padlock. Install a shed alarm. Shackle large items such as bicycles and lawn mowers together and, if possible, secure to a permanent fixture such as a cemented metal post. This will make it difficult for thieves to remove. Ladders and spades should also be attached to a secure fixture. These items are often used by thieves to gain access to properties. Do not leave unattended in gardens. Visibly mark all removable items such as lawnmowers, hedge trimmers and garden furniture with your postcode and house number. Alternatively, use an ultra violet marker or property marking system such as SmartWater. Replace ordinary screws on outbuilding doors with non-return screws. Make a note of make/model/serial number of tools and bicycles. Obscure the windows of your shed/garage to prevent thieves seeing what you have inside.
