Lunar Results Hybrid code

Initial condition Amplitude of dipole for the moon= 0 Lunar Radius=16.9 (unit of length) Maximum time = 200(inverse of gyro frequency) Size of cell in 3D= [400,400,300] Grid size in 3D= [0.5,0.5,1] Amplitude of IMF magnetic field = 1 (). Orientation of IMF: in xz plane and angle of 20 degree with Z-coordinate Solar wind initial condition: 150 particles in each cell. Initial velocity of solar wind is just on x direction. V0=3(Alfvein speed) Ratio of electron plasma pressure to magnetic pressure=0.5

Unit of length= Unit of speed= Unit of time= Unit of magnetic field= (upstream solar wind parameter) Unit of electric field= Unit of density= (proton number density)

initialization Magnetic field at all the mesh nodes set as IMF at initial time step. By advancing the time, magnetic field inside the moon does not change (I turned off updating magnetic field inside the moon) but outside it is updated each time step. Electric field at initial time step is the convection electric field After time is going Electric field inside the moon remains the same and outside is updated in time. Bi-Maxwellian velocity distribution is governed all ions. if a particle hits the lunar surface, it will be removed from the calculation.

Some points 1- in these figures solar wind is coming from the top to down so x is positive down ward. 2- y is positive from left of screen to the right. 3- z is outward positive.
