LEGISLATION AND ENFORCEMENT Specific Criminal Code for traffic offenses with outlined penalties. (i.e. fines, incarceration, mandatory re-education, suspension of driving privileges) Specific training of Police in the enforcement of traffic violations and knowledge of traffic laws. Technological equipment to monitor and enforce traffic regulations (cameras and radar)

Fines and penalties Fines Incarceration Suspension of driving privileges Requirement for further education and testing

Police Training and Enforcement There are many different models for Police training. They all have one common factor a thorough knowledge of the Traffic Code and the offenses and violations associated with the code. A Public commitment to enforce the penalties associated with traffic offenses.

Technology Are just the tools to assist Police in the enforcement of traffic regulations. Radar for speed enforcement Cameras at intersections and dangerous sections of road ways to identify violators and promote safety Dash Cams – Cameras mounted in police cars to capture evidence of violations, prevent corruption and promote officer safety.

EDUCATION Starts with the beginner driver and requires not only written and practical exams but testing before a license is issued. A basic sense of watching out for the other guy – Defensive Driving. The education courses cannot be a rubber stamp but must be uniform and regulated so that everyone learns to drive the same way. Periodic retesting for renewal of a drivers license.
