Bias Formal Summary Bibliographic Material
1. Analyze- This is to separate a whole into its parts. 2. Bias- This is a prejudice that is leaning towards a positive or negative judgment on something; a personal judgment or opinion about a particular person, position, or thing. 3. Bibliographic Material- Data pertaining to the history, physical description, comparison, and classification of books and other works. 4. Chronological Order-This is the arrangement of events in the order in which they occur. 5. Cite- to quote (a passage, a book, an author, etc.), especially as an authority 6. Dictionary- This is a reference book containing an alphabetical list of words, with information given for each word, usually including meaning, pronunciation, and etymology. 7. Evaluate- This is placing a value or rank on a piece of writing or speaking. 8. Formal Summary- A shorter piece of a longer piece of writing 9. Inquiry- This is an examination into the facts; research questioning. 10. Order of Importance- This is used when details are organized by degree of impact. 11. Organization- In writing, this is trait of order, structure and presentation or information; It is the writing trait which measures logical sequencing of ideas, details, or events. 12. Paraphrase-This is the restatement of a written work in one’s own words that keeps the basic meaning of the of the original work. 13. Primary Source- This is the original document or firsthand account. 14. Secondary Source- This is a commentary on an original document or firsthand account. 15. Sequence- This is order in which things happen. 16. Sequential Order- This is the chronological, or time, order of events in a reading passage. 17. Spatial Order- This is used when details are organized from one location to another. 18. Summarize- This is to state briefly. 19. Thesaurus- This is a book of synonyms.
