Futaba product range, vision In the following sheets a new range of products is shown as a vision. As every vision, it is a view from today into the future. We always need a vision to get goals. With clear goals, solutions will follow automatically All my suggestions in this presentation can be started by improving existing products. Lots of the existing products can already get closer to the market when we reduce complexity. This doesn`t cost a lot of money and will help to get the products more customer oriented. Customers can set up all functions by connecting the RX to a smart phone via Blue tooth, or via USB to computer In addition stored RX data and sensors can be displayed or adjusted. The customer gets functions not known until now. Combined with the bootloader system it can be used to bind customers to the brand name. Makes devices from other suppliers completely unnecessary. Complete function chaine gets shorter.

Futaba product range, vision Stabilising systems I was the inventor of airplane gyros, I am selling airplane gyros since 1996, I have some good ideas about how an airplane gyro today must work, be sure. All the world is selling 3 axis stabi systems with heading mode. For helicopters it is OK, it really helps. But it is only expert market for Futaba. Cheap systems are dominating the helicopter mass market. For airplanes customers got told that they need a 3axis gyro njow. And as nearly every supplier is offering it, customer believed it. In truth they don`t need it, as it is, for airplanes. It doesn`t really help to learn to fly. These 3 axis systems are only existing because the sensors (expl. Invensense) are exisiting on a very low price. Cheapest 3 axis airplane gyro is € 15.- retail. Customers now already have noticed that it doesn`t really help to learn to fly, and experst want to have a gyro which supports the pilot, but doesn`t fly the airplane (heading). Now this market will come back, we need gyros which are really helping. But products must have low level complexity. Beginners for airplane use They need help to prevent the airplane from a crash Experts with airplanes They want to have assistance from the gyro in gusty conditions without changing the flyfeeling from the airplane. Me, ACT is still selling about 200pcs/year expert gyros ( € 250.-) with completely different strategies as the 3 axis gyros with heading. It is only dampening. A bigger company can surely sell 10x more. With some new ideas we could create new gyro products for the new market. And we do it together with new RX. These can have a special gyro connector and include the gyro softare already in the RX. This connetcor has multiple use, so we can add to our RX gyros, or vario, or other external products. We have 2 target groups for airplane gyros:

New High class TX As shown we have a new target group spending a lot of money for the modeling. This target group grows, even in total, the amount of people is not very high. It must have exclusivity Must look completely different Must have perfect design and haptic It must be expensive Must create „Image“. Modern technical equipment are showing a visual similarity, which is evident: Flat design is synonymous for modern and powerful, and provides image. With that system it is possible to bind the customer to a product line. In our case, the key product is the receiver of the RC system. To get to these functions, the customer must create a customer account on the producers server and allow him to sent product information, advertisements and updates. Example: The customer buys a beginner radio with a simple TX without display, without computer. The set contains a bootloader receiver. This receiver works without any mixer or reversal functions. If the customer wants to fly a delta airplane with mixer, he can connect the receiver to the internet and load down the desired mixer (in truth he only activates the already existing mixer in the receiver). In addition he can adjust some throws and mixing directions, or can do servo reverse. Or activate the sensor input for telemetry…….. The customer can get to these functions with connection to a computer (PC, smartphone, tablett) which is linked to the internet. The receiver is a normal RC receiver, but it is possible to pre program it from producer with several functions and mixers which are normaly supplied from a transmitter and stored in a model memory. The production cost for TX and RX are low, as the TX doesn`t have only low level electronics without any computer. The cost for RX is same as without bootloader. Needed in addition is the software for APP for smartphone or PC. The customer needs to buy an interface (USB, Blue tooth), or it is already part of the set……… How many functions will be pre set can be decided from producer. It is not the target to prevent the customer to make the next step to buy a higher TX. The target is to offer functions to a customer in the beginner class nobody has. And to motivate him to stay with that brand. In addition the customer gives more information to the distributor or producer This system can be used to bind endusers to a certain dealer, as the dealer can do the set ups in the receivers as a customer service……. Or OEM customers can use this system top provide exclusive functions It is a marketing tool. If we create attractive software functions and other information, the customer will follow this system as he gets lot of functions to a much lower price than a computer TX, and this in a beginner radio.
