Classroom Management Philosophy Bayley Savage

INTASC Standard Standard # 6- The teacher understands and uses multiple methods of assessments to engage learners in their own growth, to monitor learner progress, and to guide the teacher’s and learner’s decision making. Name of Artifact: classroom management and teaching philosophy Date: 3/19/2014 Course: EDUC 240 Brief Description: For this assignment we had to State our Philosophy and our reaction to the authors Philosophy. We also had to state our bullying prevention plan and our management rules. Rationale: I chose this standard because it shows how the decisions we make can affect a child’s decision making and the progress that the child makes.

Philosophy Learning should be fun. If students are not having fun while learning they get distracted more easily, and if there isn’t much involvement in an activity there going to start to act out. Give students instructions, safety precautions and let them learn and experience things themselves.

My Reaction to Author’s Philosophy I disagree with the author saying that he check mark, then time out, note home does note help students learn o manage their own behavior. I agree with students are in control of their behavior but also the teacher does play a role in how they act in there classroom. I also feel that students do take responsibility for what happens in a classroom with discipline.

Management Routines Consistent with punishment Let the children know what I will tolerate and what I will not Have certain ways we clean up, get drinks, and bathroom beaks

Bullying Prevention Plan My bully prevention plan is to have activities where the children can support each other and have bonding moments. If there is bullying I plan on taking the one who is bullying and talking to them and asking why they are doing what they are doing.
