A Mother Worthy of Praise

Good Mothers are Busy (Prov. 31): Busy taking care of the household (Prov. 31:27) Go to bed late and rise early (Prov. 31:15, 18) Makes sure her family is clothed and fed (Prov. 31: 15, 21-22) DO WE APPRECIATE THESE THINGS? – Did you ever go hungry? – Do we take this for granted? – Mothers do this even when they can’t be appreciated!

Mothers: A Thankless Role Mom and Dad’s are involved in these things: But Mom’s will have to take on some of these roles primarily Babies can’t say thank you! It’s important as children grow to be taught to appreciate her and not take her for granted “She wiped your dirty little bottom and your snotty little nose when you were a baby and your are going to show her some respect!”

Good Mothers are Loving Titus 2:4; encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children. Good Mothers see their children as a blessing/a joy – Psalm 127:3; Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward – John 16:21; Whenever a woman is in labor she has pain, because her hour has come; but when she gives birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish because of the joy that a child has been born into the world.

Good Mothers are Loving Titus 2:4 Good Mothers see their children as a blessing/a joy – Psalm 127:3 – John 16:21 By this role we better understand the love of Christ and how he served – “the greater will serve the lesser” (Luke 22) – Jesus washed the feet of the disciples – 1 John 4:19; “we love because he first loved us”

Good Mothers Extend Spiritual Training and Wisdom: Timothy’s grandmother and mother – 2 Tim. 3:13-17 – 2 Tim. 1:5 The Worthy Woman (Prov. 31) – Prov. 31:26; She opens her mouth in wisdom, And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. – Prov. 31:1; “the oracle which his mother taught him” – We all benefit from wisdom passed down by mothers!
