Presentation transcript:

There are two species of Rhinos, they are large, primitive-looking mammal that in fact dates from the Miocene era millions of years ago. One type is a white Rhino, another is a black Rhino. The black Rhino are recognized by only one horn, the white has two horn. The black, or hooked-lipped, rhino, along with all other rhino species, is an odd-toed ungulate (three toes on each foot). It has a thick, hairless, gray hide. Both the black and white rhino have two horns, the longer of which sits at the front of the nose.

The habitat of a Rhinos is basically all over the world, the Black rhinos have various habitats. White rhinos live in savannas with water holes, mud wallows and shade trees. They live in in habitat which they are most likely to get pouched. In the UK they are numerous Rhinos which live in Zoos.

The black rhino is a browser, with a triangular- shaped upper lip ending in a mo grasping point. It eats a very large variety of vegetation woody, including leaves, buds and shoots of plants, bushes and trees. The white rhino, on the other hand, is a grazer feeding on grasses.

Zindzi will be arriving in our school next September, he will be representing Rhinos all over in South Africa. From zindzi ‘s visit we will be learning a lot about Rhinos. We all can’t wait for Zindzi to arrive! Welcome to our School, Zindsi!
