CORPORATE MISSION AND VISION Our Mission: “To enhance life by harnessing the power of the sun.” Our Vision: We will generate outstanding value for our shareholders while contributing to energy security, social equity, and the conservation of natural resources.

FLAT ROOFING Flat to low slope  Commercial and Industrial Types of Flat Roof Materials and Their Differences  BUR – Built Up Roofing  Modified – Modified Bitumen  EPDM – Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer  TPO - Thermoplastic Polyolefin  PVC – Polyvinyl Chloride  Others – Hybrids, Metal etc

Multiple plies of:  Saturated felts, coated felts, fabrics, or mats assembled in place with alternate layers of bitumen, and surfaced with rock, coating, or cap sheet. BUILT UP ROOFING “Old School” – Tar and Gravel

BUILT UP ROOFING Advantages:  Tough  “Name” recognition  Length of time on market Disadvantages:  Not energy efficient  Cost  Equipment / Experience  Manufactured from the residues of the asphalt and petroleum industries  Disruptive installation – (Hot Tar/Odor)  If installed correctly very expensive (tear-off, tapered) Warranties from 5-25 years depending on manufacturer and application

MODIFIED BITUMEN A bitumen modified by including one or more polymers (e.g., atactic polypropylene, styrene butadiene styrene, etc.) Composite sheets consisting of a polymer modified bitumen often reinforced with various types of mats or films and sometimes surfaced with films, foils or mineral granules.

Advantages:  Tough, Market penetration / availability and Materials Cost Disadvantages:  Typically not energy efficient, Installation methods and Long term costs  Manufactured from the residues of the asphalt and petroleum industries  Dangerous / Disruptive installation (odor, open flame)  If installed correctly very expensive (tear-off, tapered) Warranties from 5-25 years depending on manufacturer and application MODIFIED BITUMEN

EPDM (Rubber) ETHYLENE PROPYLENE DIENE MONOMER Manufactured from the residues of the rubber industry (Firestone) Ballasted applications popular....tape seams If installed correctly very expensive (tear-off, tapered) Warranties from 5-25 years depending on manufacturer and application Advantages:  Flexible/ Market penetration / availability/Materials & Install Cost Disadvantages:  Typically not energy efficient/ Adhesion to self/ Long term costs/ Fire

EPDM (Rubber) ETHYLENE PROPYLENE DIENE MONOMER

TPO THERMOPLASTIC POLYOLEFIN A blend of polypropylene and ethylene-propylene polymers. Colorant, flame retardants, UV absorbers and other proprietary substances may be blended with the TPO to achieve the desired physical properties. May or may not be reinforced. Environmentally Friendlier

PVC POLYVINYL CHLORIDE A synthetic thermoplastic Polymer prepared from vinylchloride. PVC can be compounded into flexible and rigid forms through the use of plasticizers, stabilizers, fillers and other modifiers. Rigid forms are used in pipes; Flexible forms are used in the manufacture of sheeting and roof membrane materials.

PVC POLYVINYL CHLORIDE Advantages:  Flexible Energy, Efficient, Heat Welded, Materials & Install Cost Disadvantages:  Past Failures (Early 80’s)  Thinner Membranes (40mil)  Materials Costs  PVC Roofing Material is not a by-product of another industry  Ease of installation and repair  Extremely minimal maintenance required Warranties from 5-25 years depending on manufacturer and application

PVC INSTALLATION METHODS Mechanically Fastened  Attach roof using screws and plates  Most popular method of PVC attachment  Recommended when using PV Solar

PVC INSTALLATION METHODS Fully Adhered  Roof is 'glued' down

PVC INSTALLATION METHODS

 Heat welded using a powerful hot-air blower (400 F)  Seams are the strongest part of the PVC roof  No chemicals, glues, or adhesives PVC WELDING PVC

Various materials including 5” Polyisocyanurate insulation, Fanfold insulation with 6mil Polyethelene film vapor barrier PVC INSULATION & SLIPSHEETS Serve Multiple Purposes:  Add ‘R’ value to the facility  Provide separation between PVC and old roofing  Provide positive drainage (tapered)
