Overview of PITC Partners for Quality Program for Infant Toddler Care (PITC) Partners for Quality Slides 8 – 11: optional information about PITC/PQ to share with participants, if time allows

The Program for Infant Toddler Care (PITC) Partners for Quality (PQ) Program and Regional Support Network (RSN) was developed in 1999 through funding from the California State Department of Education, Child Development Division to increase the capacity and improve the quality of family child care and center-based infant and toddler care throughout California. The primary purpose of the PQ Program funding is to sustain a RSN which will provide comprehensive training, and coaching for organizations that are implementing new infant/toddler child care programs or making efforts to improve the quality of existing infant/toddler services. The PQ Program employs certified PITC trainers to provide training, coaching and mentoring to local infant/toddler care programs in California.

Regional Support Network 11 RSN Regions 13 Regional Coordinators 100 Certified PITC Infant/Toddler Specialists 5 PITC Demonstration Programs The PQ RSN is divided into twelve regions, each of which is supported by an Regional Coordinator. The PITC Regional Coordinators are responsible for the coordination and support of PITC training activities within her/his assigned region.

PITC Demonstration Programs Santa Rosa Junior College Cabrillo Community College Merced College Glendale Community College Grossmont Community College We have 5 demonstration site which provide tours and observation of PITC in practice. Each undergoes regular reviews to ensure continued high standards of quality modeling PITC’s essential policies.

Partners for Quality Services Pre-service plan for new or expanding I/T centers, CA I/T Learning and Development System (1 unit), Infant/Toddler Group Care (3 units), Advanced Courses (1-2 units) Some of the services we provide. The ITLDS course will no longer be offered as an on-site training plan, however, we will continue to provide community seminars on this which focuses on the I/T Foundations and Program Guidelines. We also offer a community seminar on the I/T Curriculum Frameworks. All of our trainings, including seminars, meets the requirements for CARES Plus component A.

Fee for Services We provide custom designed training and coaching services to meet the needs of infant/toddler programs. Fees for the custom designed services are negotiated.

PITC Partners for Quality Infant/Toddler Specialists Fully Certified in PITC Are employed based on available resources and regional needs. Experience providing training and coaching to infant/toddler center-based and family child care programs. Experience supporting program staff with program implementation and change.
