Writing the Persuasive Essay Terms to know- 1.Anticipate Audience: consider how readers will respond, find offensive, confusing, or important. 2. Claim (proposition, thesis): Not the same as subject or topic. It must be able to be argued and require defense through evidence. Be precise, clear, and properly qualified. 3. Evidence: Includes quotations, observations, interviews, examples, facts, data, results from surveys and sometimes personal experience. 4. Reasoning: Writers must base claims on more than just personal preference/opinions. Your reasons demand evidence, information and logic.
