Why have Profiles? The Profiles will assist school leaders to build their leadership capacity by enabling them to: identify their current leadership practice reflect on the context of their current practice plan their next stage of development

How were the Profiles developed? Nov 13 Profession - consultations shaped draft Profiles Expert Steering Group Project Reference Group Expert Practitioners Group March 14 Uni Melb team - validated draft Profiles survey gained 1600+ school leader responses May 14 Profession - consulted on draft Profiles 300+ school/system leaders 9 locations across Australia Jun/Aug 14 Profiles finalised – reflecting feedback

What are the Profiles? The Profiles have been based on the Standard and are made up of sets of statements that progressively increase in complexity

Progressive and increasing in complexity: Principals promote the benefits of professional learning to all staff and make sure that their willingness and efforts to learn and improve are recognised. The develop and implement an organisational vision which links all learning and development activities to better student outcomes ……… Principals create challenging roles, responsibilities and opportunities for senior leaders that leverage and grow the talents of others. They build and sustain a coaching and mentoring culture… and have a system of peer review and feedback in place ………
