JT2015 Strategic Plan Mid Year Status Report

Jefferson Township 2015 Goal 1 Students will be responsible and contributing citizens.

JT2015: Goal 1 Accomplishments Task Continue to enhance and improve recycling district-wide. A.Paper recycling containers are in all classrooms, offices, and workspaces. B.Recycling containers for glass, metal, and plastic are strategically placed through out all district buildings. C.Recycling containers are available for batteries in each school and all schools recycle ink cartridges. D.All staff has been instructed to utilize proper recycling containers. E.There have been many classroom and school-wide activities to promote student awareness of recycling. F.Custodial and maintenance staff have been trained and reminded of recycling procedures. G.Recycling done as per township ordinance. H.Chartwells is utilizing environmentally friendly products district-wide.

JT2015: Goal 1 Accomplishments Elementary Schools:  Morning Magic and Afternoon Adventure clubs are beautifying school grounds(1.1.2).  Assembly program by Jack Brannigan on the rain forest and making environmentally responsible choices (1.1.1). Middle School:  Environmental Club has established plans to beautify specific areas of the school(1.1.2).  GATEways students have created signs to promote recycling and environmentally conscious choices (1.1.3). High School:  Engineering classes designed prototype container covers to help channel recyclables into proper containers (1.1.1).  Media classes produced “Recycle Right” commercials and reminders featuring JTHS students and faculty (1.1.3). District-Wide:  Students at all levels participated in activities centered around the 2008 presidential election (1.2.3).
