1,200 injury crashes & 15 deaths each day are due to a distracted driver. (NHTSA) Every 4 days, an employee dies in a work- related crash. (DOL) Statistics

Enforcement Strategies Initially 3 non-certified spotters on overpasses to relay violations to 3 CMV certified officer’s. Unlike Speed Enforcement, VA Law does not permit this strategy for CMV enforcement.

Enforcement Strategies NKSO employed 1 CMV certified officer relaying to 1 Non-certified officer to make the stop.

Enforcement Strategies Two roving patrol units conducted traffic stops based on their observations.
