School District 23 Career and Transitions Programs have a variety of options for those who are interested in the Trade and Technology Focus Area and academic programs

Objectives  Encourage secondary school students to see post- secondary education as an option;  Open up access to post-secondary programs at Okanagan College;  Provide an opportunity for Central Okanagan School District students to transition to Okanagan College through the Early College experience;  Specifically for: students not performing to potential in a large secondary school setting; students who face challenges that may otherwise prevent participation in post-secondary;  Provide an innovative learning model focused on developing the attributes of a 21 st century learner

Overview  Chosen students will undertake their grade 11 and grade 12 years at Okanagan College.  The students will start their first year of college in their Grade 12 year, while finishing grade 12 secondary courses.  Secondary courses will be instructed by Central Okanagan School District secondary teachers and College courses will be instructed by Okanagan College faculty or instructors.  During the program, students will enroll in Okanagan College courses as regular students, and have access to services as all Okanagan College students do.
