Progressive Achievement Tests in Written Spelling and Punctuation and Grammar (PAT-SPG)

What is PAT-SPG? The Progressive Achievement Tests in Written Spelling and Punctuation and Grammar assess students’ understanding of the standard Australian English language conventions of grammar and punctuation

PAT-SPG Two separate testing programs Grammar & Punctuation Written Spelling Two separate testing programs

PAT-SPG Written Spelling Eight normed and graded tests that provide a comprehensive assessment of spelling, both through dictation and written text. Year 2 – Year 10 30 minutes Group assessment Results reported on the same scale as the PAT-R Spelling

PAT-SPG Grammar & Punctuation Seven normed and graded tests set on a common developmental scale for reporting results on each test Year 3 – Year 10 30 minutes Group assessment

PAT-SPG Allows teachers to set realistic goals and plan effective English programs How? Collects diagnostic information from student responses Tracks progress from year to year Provides norms to compare your students to the wider Australian sample

Reporting performance Two reports are available: Group Report Individual Student Report ACER test scoring services can be used to score PAT Grammar and Punctuation. A CD in the manual has proforma spreadsheets for each test for recording results. Scale scores, percentile ranks and stanines are automatically calculated from students’ raw scores
