Heathrow Area Freight Forum Olympic Working Group Traffic Hot Spots - Wider Area

Heathrow / M4 Corridor 2 Games Lane

M4 Junction 3 M4 access - emergency repairs No other option for business traffic trying to access the M4 junction or trying to avoid it during games times. 3

Cranford High Street Identified as the main holding area for traffic prior to joining the M4 J3 interchange Normal traffic is expected to queue back to Bath Road and beyond 4

A312 / A30 / Green Lane junctions As it is today this is likely to be one of the most congested junctions on the planned route. The working group felt that this immediate area was likely to have the biggest impact on companies day to day operation with very few alternative routes 5

Hatton Cross 16 Octob er The working group identified this junction as being one of the most difficult to avoid during peak periods It was also identified that company premises situated on the A30 itself would have extremely difficult journey’s travelling North to come South or v.v. to gain airport access

Wider Area 8 Working group identified that wider area impact for businesses immediately associated with trading with the airport covered a far wider area than what’s been identified for traffic purposes. Major forwarders and Trading Estates to the South, East and North of the airport are likely to encounter major difficulties in navigating in and out of the airport, and operating in the surrounding area.
