University of Ljubljana internal and external stakeholders Organizational forms for Knowledge Transfer Technology and social innovation Active cooperation of knowledge institutions (UL, institutes, labs…) with business and wider community Interdisciplinary cooperation and innovative networks New products, services, solutions Spin offs, start ups University of Ljubljana Integrated Eco-System of Innovation Job creation

 Existing forms of knowledge transfer inside institutions are fragmented (career centres, incubators, business and research projects, D-school, TT offices, knowledge managers, knowledge platforms, e-platforms…)  Existing intermediary knowledge transfer institutions are weak and narrow focused (R&D agencies, incubators…) Fragmentation and Competition instead of Integration and Cooperation! But… We are still missing intermediaries, supportive platforms and trained people in knowledge transfer!

Slovenian Innovation Hub - SIH As an organisational framework for the eco-system of innovation, which openly integrates different stakeholeders and: -Supports existing forms of knowledge transfer -Creates new forms of knowledge transfer -Assists in organisation of innovative knowledge -Enhances creation of value chains and networks -Supports value chains and networks

Why? To productively use, connect, interact, co-map the existing knowledge of Slovenia To develop good supporting environment for new research and knowledge transfer To overcome the boarders of each knowledge/research institution and create efficient intercations with the business community and wider To provide companies and public institutions easier access to knowledge To evaluate knowledge through new products, services, solutions, patents, know how, IPR… and market it! KEY GOAL is to position Slovenia as an innovative and knowledge based economy in real value terms.

 New products, services, solutions  New companies (spin-offs, spin-outs)  Innovative restructuring of existing companies  New high quality jobs  Synergy of knowledge  Economic growth and well being Direct results of SIH
