SMARTBoard and Interactive Activities For Elementary Schools Fall 2008 Kathy Beck

Session Description Enhancing your use of technology may be as simple as fully utilizing your SMARTBoard software. In this digital age – it is important to engage students. Interactive lessons achieve that goal. SMART offers many lessons that coordinate with your subject area. Many activities can be found online as well. I will share lessons and activities as well as links for more resources. Wonderful for whole class and also excellent for differentiation. Version 10

Shade Full Screen Show multiple pages Capture Connect Document Camera Insert Table Select Tool Pen Creative Pen Eraser Capture: Press capture button Pointer changes to cross hairs Press and drag the cross hairs on the screen to define the area you want to capture The image of this area appears on a new notebook page Options include: Area capture Window capture Freehand capture

Writing to Text Click on the arrow icon and click and drag across the handwriting

Click on the down arrow in the top right corner and select recognize and choose the correct text.

The handwriting is converted to text.

Eraser Circle the area – tap the center – it erases it all.

Tables can have cell shade or table shade

Floating Toolbar Can be moved to right or left and minimized.
