5/18/20152 Introduction FToday we will be discussing what to wear and what NOT to wear in the science laboratory! FWe’ll also discuss some general safety procedures FToday we will be discussing what to wear and what NOT to wear in the science laboratory! FWe’ll also discuss some general safety procedures

5/18/20153 FDress code in the science laboratory is extremely important. There are a lot of potentially dangerous materials and equipment in the lab including sharp instruments, bunsen burners, glassware, chemicals, gas and fire. The dress code is put into place to keep you safe while you explore the fascinating world of chemistry!

5/18/20154 Topic One - long hair FLong hair should always be tied back when working in the laboratory - especially when working around an open flame! FLong hair can easily catch fire or accidentally come in contact with the materials you are working with. 5/18/20155 Topic Two - feet It is important to wear closed toes shoes while working in the laboratory. Flip flops and sandals will not protect your feet if there is a chemical spill or a sharp object accidentally falls on them. It is important to wear closed toes shoes while working in the laboratory.
