Behavior o Represent our school well! Conduct yourself with respect, integrity, determination, and excellence. Your approach to business, college, and high school professionals should be as if you are a young adult pursuing employment from a particular business, or seeking entrance into a certain school.

Attitude and Dress  Attitude  Bring a positive attitude and maintain it as your interact with professionals.  Dress for Success!  First impressions are important. How you represent yourself sends an immediate message. Personal appearance is the first thing that a potential employer or school interviewer will see.  Dress as if you would for a job interview. Wear nice clean clothes and tuck in your shirt. Avoid wearing excessive jewelry or clothing that is too short or revealing.

Schedule for the Day ______ Bus loading time ______ Bus departure time o Distribute booklets and supplies ______ Career Fair check-in o Review school and bus name o Review expectations and procedures ______ Career Fair exit o Confirm bus group and student count ______ Bus departure time o Collect booklets and supplies

Career Cluster Prep Teacher Instructions: o Print 17 page “Careers by Cluster” handout. o Post each cluster page throughout the classroom. o Distribute Career Fair booklets. Student Instructions: o Move around the room to search for your Career Cluster page. o Confirm your Career Cluster color group in your Career Fair booklet. Education & Training  Purple

Career Cluster Prep Student Instructions: o Read through the list of careers from your Career Cluster handout. o Write down the top 2 careers you are interested in visiting at the Career Fair. Example Youth Biz Teach For America

When you enter the fair Grab a backpack, which will include a notepad, pen, map, and HS Expo flyers Search for the balloons with your Career Cluster group color Look for the large Career Cluster signs to find your Career Cluster

Inside the fair 1.CAREER Exploration (25 min) Approach 3 companies or businesses that interests you. Introduce yourself and ask the questions listed on the career fair booklet. 2.COLLEGE Exploration (10 min) Find universities and colleges that will help prepare you for your career-related goals. Meet and speak with at least 2 post-secondary schools. 3.HIGH SCHOOL Exploration (10 min) Meet and interview representatives from local high schools that will help prepare you for your post- secondary education and career-related goals.

1) Career Exploration o Approach 3 companies or businesses that interests you. o Introduce yourself and ask the questions listed in your Career Fair booklet. o Record your answers in the spaces provided in your booklet.

Career Fair Booklet Prep Write down at least one college or university that you know you want to visit at the Career Fair.

Career Fair Booklet Prep Write down at least one high school that you know you want to visit at the Career Fair.

Raffle Tickets If business reps are impressed by your behavior and completion of your Career Fair booklet, they may award you with a raffle ticket. Write down your full name and school ID. Turn in any raffle tickets you may have earned in the exit area in the Career Fair. Names will be drawn for prizes and school leaders will be notified.

Exit strategy When your school and bus name moves further up and turns red, it means your bus has left. Find an adult in a green t-shirt. When your school and bus name moves up the screen and turns yellow, go immediately to the exit staging area and find your group leader. There will be 2 large screens that display your school and bus name. New arrivals will be listed in green at the bottom of the screen, which means you are free to explore.
