Using the Photo Album in PowerPoint 2003 Multimedia Services at The Citadel Updated 6/18/07

Multimedia Services at The Citadel Start a New Photo Album Go under the Insert menu, down to Picture, and choose New Photo Album. The Photo Album dialog box will open. Under the Insert picture from: area, click on the File/Disk… button to choose the photos to add to the album.

Multimedia Services at The Citadel Locate the Photos The Insert New Pictures dialog box will open. Navigate to your photos. Click the Insert button. Select the photos you want to use. (Hold down the CTRL key to select multiple photos.) The Photo Album dialog box will open, and the photos will appear in the Pictures in Album area.

Multimedia Services at The Citadel Choose Picture Layout Click Create Button Add Captions Put the Photos in Order Add Text Boxes Rotate, if Necessary Format the Photos Choose Frame Shape Choose Design Template

Multimedia Services at The Citadel PowerPoint will now generate the photo album based on your settings. This is a good time to save the file!

Multimedia Services at The Citadel Edit the Individual Slides Add text to the introductory title slide. Change captions, if necessary. Add titles, if necessary. Change slide background, if desired. Change text color, if desired.

Multimedia Services at The Citadel Compress the Photos Compression will reduce the file size of the photo album. The Picture Toolbar should appear. (If the toolbar doesn’t appear, go under the View menu to Toolbars and then choose Picture.) First, click on one of the photos to select it. (You should see the little selection handles on each corner.) Click on the Compress Pictures button.

Multimedia Services at The Citadel Compress the Photos Make sure the following settings are marked: The Compress Pictures dialog box will open. –Apply to: All pictures in document –Change resolution: Web/Screen –Options: Compress Pictures –Options: Delete cropped areas of pictures

Multimedia Services at The Citadel Compress the Photos A second dialog box may open, asking if you want to proceed with the image optimization. Click the OK button. Click the Apply button.

Save the File… And, you’re done!!!
