Using U Canoe to help inspire Young People to participate U Canoe is Canoe England’s offer to young people aged Aims to engage new participants into the sport through two means U Canoe Wired U Canoe Unleashed Relaxed, informal, adaptable, social offer Led by young people for young people Currently have two pilots running with StreetGames Loan of 2 x indoor kayaking machines at a VERY good rate! Help and support available from regional staff to create exit routes onto the water

Research and Insight Our research and insight suggested that canoeing is seen as inaccessible and expensive to do regularly but many people have ‘had a go’ U Canoe aims to break down many of the barriers preventing participation Inspires participation through play and deciding own outcomes Rewards on offer through participation and plans to extend this in the future Social Media Our aim is participation for life and we see U Canoe as the first step on the ladder to achieve this U_canoe

Activator Training Canoe England are pleased to offer free U Canoe Wired training for all Activators and Tutors Activators are VERY important to successful delivery Tutor course 4-5 hours (depending on experience) Activator course 3 hours Activators should be 14+ years old Leadership experience (JSLA, CSLA) Fun Approachable Confident at organising, managing and leading sessions Activators will be given the tools to help support participants to progress onto the water and into Unleashed.
