The Triangle Trade

The Triangle Trade was actually three trade routes, which created an exchange cycle of goods. The series of trade routes formed a triangle when mapped out.

So, who is doing all the trading? Africa New England West Indies

New England Imported Molasses from West Indies Exported Rum to Africa New England ports such as Boston, Salem, and Newport were all involved in the Triangle Trade system. Where it all began…

Once slave ships arrived in the West Indies, the Africans were put to work. Slaves arrived in the West Indies to meet one of two fates: Enslaved in West Indies Or sold at auction

What about the Navigation Acts? The purposes of the Navigation Acts was to strengthen England and make it richer…only ships built in England or the colonies could carry goods to and from the colonies…The law was designed to keep trade in English hands. (p. 113)
