Who were the Puritans? Puritans are a group of people who wanted to escape the theocracy of the Anglican Church and the King of England.

What distinguished their faith from other of their time period? Puritans believed that the Bible is general rule, the law.

Why did they cross the Atlantic Ocean? They gave up on separating church and state, Separatists, wanted to establish settlement in a New World.

What were their goals? Their main goals was to “purify”, to separate the church and government., the Anglican Church of England, because of it being too “corrupted.”

Give several examples of typical Puritan beliefs. “To live with all my might, while I do live.” To make the most out of every moment of your life. b) “Never to do anything, which I should be afraid to do, if it were the last hour of my life.” To not even try to be courageous. “Never to suffer the least motions of anger to irrational beings.” Not to take your anger out on an innocent person.
