Goal setting and progress monitoring (cont.)

Think about your week. Circle the up triangle if you improved even a little this past week. For example: Did you eat even a little more fruit or vegetables? Did you eat even a little less sweets or chips? Did you drink even a little more water or a little less soda?

Goal Setting for Health & Wellness Think, Write, Pair Share & Volunteer Share GOAL: To get more exercise this week. ACTION PLAN: I am planning to rollerblade around the park after school before starting homework. I am going to see if Maria will come with me to make it more fun and will try to go at least four days.

Think about your week and picking out the most important ideas. Circle the up triangle if you improved even a little this past week. For example: Did you make an A or B on a test or quiz this week? After students rate the week for picking out most important things ask a few volunteers: “How many circled the up triangle this week?” “Tell us what you did to improve” “How many agree that this is a good way to improve picking out the most important ideas?”

Think about your week and your memory. Circle the up triangle if you improved even a little this past week. For example: Did you use an outline or other graphic organizer this week? Did you use the note card strategy this week? After students rate the week for memory ask a few volunteers: “How many circled the up triangle this week?” “Tell us what you did to improve” “How many agree that this is a good way to improve memory?”

Think about your week and handling pressure when taking a test. Circle the up triangle if you improved even a little this past week. For example: Did you use Calm place or Keep Kool Tunes this week? Think about your week and staying organized. Circle the up triangle if you improved even a little this past week. For example: Did you use your calendar this week to keep up with when things are due? After students rate the week for staying organized, ask a few volunteers: “How many circled the up triangle this week?” “Tell us what you did to improve” “How many agree that this is a good way to improve staying organized?”

Think about your week and your study buddy. Circle the up triangle if you improved even a little this past week. For example: Did you talk to your study buddy about a test or assignment? After students rate the week for study buddy ask a few volunteers: “How many circled the up triangle this week?” “Tell us what you did to improve” “How many agree that this is a good way to improve working with a study buddy?”

Think about your week and working well with others. Circle the up triangle if you improved even a little this past week. For example: Did you listen while others talked this week? Did you do your share of the work? After students rate the week for working with others ask a few volunteers: “How many circled the up triangle this week?” “Tell us what you did to improve” “How many agree that this is a good way to improve working with others?”
