Strategy: Predict the Answers Read through the questions for the sample passage. Read the passage and answer each question as you find it.

Review: Sentence Corrections 1.She runs effortlessly during her races and she always seems nervous while practicing. Review: Sentence Corrections B is correct There are two clauses. The first is in direct opposition to the second, so the coordinating conjunction but is needed.

Review: Sentence Corrections C is correct The subject sound lacks a verb. The word blocked is not a verb; it is being used as an adjective. We need a choice that includes was blocked. D and E use was but make a mess of the sentence. Remember, SAT will prefer sentences that are more concise.
