The Vowels: A, E, I, O, U Spanish has 5 vowels: – A: Mamá (mother), Papá (father), Taza (cup) – E: Bebé (baby), Leche(Milk), Pepe – I: Si (yes), Kiwi, Indivisibilidad – O: Oso (bear), Pollo (chicken), Loco (Crazy) – U: Burro (donkey), Uno (one) ALWAYS pronounced the same, except for U which sometimes is silent.

“C” sounds as: – K, when followed by A, O and U Casa (House) Comida (Meal or Food) Cuchara (Spoon) – S, when followed by E or I Cepillo (Brush) Cigarro (Cigarette) Ca, Ce, Ci, Co, Cu

Ga, Ge, Gi, Go, Gu “G” sounds: – Strong, when followed by A, O or U Gallo (Rooster)Gorro (Cap)Gusano (Worm) – Soft, when followed by E or I GerardoGigante (Giant) – Strong, when followed by UE or UI (U is silent) Guerrero (Warrior) Guitarra (Guitar)
