RTI and Behavior Process Improvement Group Goal: To identify and prioritize action items for each of the 3 priority areas related to RTI and behavior

3 Priority Areas Address high intensity behaviors that present a safety issue Streamline the process to match current resources while establishing a system that consistently works grade to grade, school to school, and level to level for the purpose of transitions and ensuring that the process (graphing) is sensitive enough to identify cases of mental illness (3 pts. Below, 18 week, trend line) Address the lack of social/school skills curriculum for the general education classroom and the gap in teacher preparation in the area classroom management/behavior management

Developing a Classroom Management Plan Using a Tiered Approach Guiding Question: 1. In terms of intervention (classroom and/or school wide), what do Tiers I, II, and III look like in NHCS? You may want to refer to Figure I in the article to guide your thinking. (Sayeski & Brown, 2011)

Developing a Classroom Management Plan Using a Tiered Approach Guiding Question: 2. In terms of intervention, at which Tier are we strongest? Weakest? (Sayeski & Brown, 2011)

Developing a Classroom Management Plan Using a Tiered Approach Guiding Question: 3. How can a tiered framework assist us in implementing RTI for behavior? (Sayeski & Brown, 2011)

Small and Whole Groups: Ask the Questions: 1. What do we need to do? 2. What do we need to do it?

Consolidate/Prioritize Actions 1. What are the reoccurring actions? 2. How can the actions be ordered in terms of realistic priorities?

Action Plan 1. What? 2. Who? 3. When?

Next Steps 1. What are our next steps?
