Ejemplos: cantar canto  cantar in the yo form becomes canto – cant o “cant” (the stem) plus “ o ” (the yo form ending) hablarhabla  hablar in the usted form becomes habla – habl a “habl” (the stem) plus “ a ” (the usted form ending) - ar - er - ir
