Occupational Therapy and Social Enterprise Further research on occupational therapy role in health promotion. Stop talking amongst ourselves and start telling others about what we do! Look beyond the NHS! Placement task :  Develop an occupational therapy led service proposal that will enhance the service currently offered at the placement site  18 days on site

 Promotes social inclusion and healthy lifestyle through health promoting activities and employment training opportunities.  Offers occupational, recreational, educational training and employment opportunities.

Educational Impact  Suitable learning environment to explore beyond traditional roles  Promotion of:  student initiative  self-directedness  responsibility

Benefits of Non-traditional Placements  Builds professional identity  Allows room for innovation  Development of future roles  Increase knowledge about the role of voluntary sector in the community
